Order of Consecrated Virgins

“It is with great pleasure that I now send you this letter formally convoking the International Congress-Pilgrimage of the Order of Consecrated Virgins which will take place in Rome, 14-20 May 2008. The theme of these days will be Consecrated Virginity Lived in the World: A Gift for the Church and in the Church (Card. Ratzinger).”

Themes include:

  • The Spiritual Fruitfulness of Consecrated Virginity

  • The Place and the Life of the Consecrated Virgin in the Local Church and her Relationship with the Bishop

 

Speakers include Franc Cardinal Rodé, C.M. (Vatican City), Archbishop Raymond Burke (USA), Bishop Demebrio Gonzalez (Spain), and other clergy and consecrated virgins from around the globe.

An international committee of consecrated virgins and bishops is planning the Congress-Pilgrimage, and registrations are now being accepted, by country.

The following are invited to attend:  

1)       All those who have been consecrated into the Order of Virgins, described in Canon 604.

2)       Candidates who have received a consecration date prior to the Congress-Pilgrimage.

3)       All Bishops and priest-delegates working with consecrated virgins in a diocese.
